Club Experience

We want to awake the scientist inside our students through challenging and mind-stretching discussions where they will be exposed to ideas, concepts, findings, innovations and problems waiting to be solved. Students will explore, learn, discuss and do crazy experiments while understanding the science behind it.

Schedule

* Europe / Asia Meetup: Mondays at 11 am GMT
* America Meetup: Mondays at 2 pm PST

Learning Goals

We aim to awaken the students’ curiosity about their surroundings and to get a better understanding about how their world works. We want to develop the Conscientiousness trait so that kids train themselves to be careful, diligent, self-systematic, neat and to tend to think carefully before acting. By showing and explaining the students the science behind many processes through home experiments and by actively interacting with them, we want to stimulate them to do home science-projects and experiments. We want to build their confidence and initiative and motivate their creativity so that one day students may begin their journey into the creation of future innovations with the beauty and poetry of their own imagination.

About the Club Teacher

David Ruchman holds a BSc in Biology and a Master degree in Genetics and developmental biology from the University of Vienna. He has extensive experience in research, industry and healthcare.

Early, during his career, he worked part time as a private teacher in Biology, math and chemistry, serving also as a mentor and also prepared students in the subject of biology for university admission exams. In 2008 he was involved in Project management and experimental design for the development of biocidal products. He thereafter was involved in research in the area of transcription control and at the same time still manages a family business that represents different companies, driving and promoting sales and doing market research.

He is very passionate about teaching as he still does it privately for school students. Since april 2020 he joined forces with Galileo starting with a Nanodegree in Viruses. He recently started the science club with the objective of awakening curiosity for one’s surroundings, understanding the science behind many processes through creative experiments and presentations and encouraging students to achieve their full potential by motivating their creativity and imagination towards future innovations.
